Our History
A past to be proud of
History is an important part of any business and everyone’s got one. At JCG we take pride in our evolution and continued growth. With a rich history and proven track record of success, we are constantly discovering, learning, creating and contributing new solutions to improve family experiences.
Tom Johnson starts offering consulting services out of his home in Naples, Florida.
Tom officially establishes Johnson Consulting Group with the goal of becoming the nation’s premier funeral home and cemetery broker.
Johnson Consulting Group moves its headquarters to Scottsdale, Arizona, where Jake Johnson joins the family business.
The company quickly expands its offering, adding accounting, business consulting, surveying, and valuations to its list of services.
Jake launches a web-based survey and sales program called Performance Tracker. JCG moves into a new office to accommodate its growing team.
The largest private transaction in JCG’s history takes place, and the company stages its inaugural Summit.
JCG acquires Thomas-Pierce & Company, once the largest broker in the Funeral and Cemetery profession.
As JCG establishes a new revenue record, additional team members are hired in the areas of management service, accounting, and business development to prepare for further growth.
The company launches its JCG Academy, establishes a formal marketing department, and undergoes a re-branding as it sets yet another revenue record.
Two courses are added to the JCG Academy: Leadership & Management, Customer Experience. Jake publishes his book, Staying Alive in the Funeral & Cemetery Profession, and enhancements are made to Performance Tracker.
